For one of our clients, a leading specialized industrial wholesale and service provider operating in a B2B technical environment, we are currently looking for a Head of Product Management.
Our client supports industrial customers across Europe by combining a broad technical product portfolio with engineering expertise, customized solutions and value-added services. The organization operates internationally and works closely with OEM and MRO customers to improve performance, reduce total cost of ownership and enable sustainable growth.
To further strengthen its product management capabilities and support organic growth, the organization is strengthening its product management team.
The Role
As Head of Product Management, you are responsible for managing a team of Product Managers, developing a strategic product portfolio. You own the full product lifecycle across several product categories. You play a key role in developing a vision for the different product categories and product innovation and driving the development of technical expertise around customization and engineering solutions in your team.
You develop an international pricing strategy across countries and manufacturers, products and value-added services, with a clear focus on driving revenue and margin growth while stimulating synergies across the organization.
You help define the overall product strategy by managing both push and pull assortments and by delivering data, analyses and technical expertise to support the commercial approach. You guide the product development process from idea and design through to production and delivery for key and strategic customers.
In addition, you set the framework and drive the identification and development of new business opportunities based on market trends, product potential, market size and economic feasibility, supported by market and competitor analyses.
For general customers, you stimulate growth through a strong online push assortment, ensuring high-quality content and technical support data that enables customers to select and use products effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Product Managers across different Product Categories while collaborating efficiently with country organizations.
- Develop and execute a product strategy and portfolio structure that strengthens technical specialism and supports value-based selling
- Manage strategic suppliers in close collaboration with Head of Procurement, focusing on consolidation, portfolio development, joint sales plans and clear go-to-market strategies
- Create scale advantages in technical expertise, engineering and customized solutions
- Collaborate closely with Head of Supply Chain, Head of Commerce and Head of Operations to ensure alignment and reliable delivery
- Define and roll out the push assortment at an international level
- Enable and support sales teams through USP training, sharing best practices and joint customer visits
- Develop a technical support strategy for complex projects during quotation, order and execution phases
- Co-own revenue and margin targets together with country sales teams and contribute to exceeding customer expectations
This international role ensures local sales organizations are equipped with strong propositions and clear USPs to drive sustainable organic growth.
Candidate Profile
Experience & Background
- Master’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent experience
- At least 8 years of working experience in a commercial-technical or industrial B2B environment
- Proven experience in leading a product management team covering at least 5 countries, portfolio management or business development
- Strong understanding of product strategy, pricing, lifecycle management and go-to-market execution
- Experience working in a matrix and international organization
