The Role

We are recruiting for a Lead Buyer – Seaborne Iron Ore to join our client’s Luxembourg-based team. This role involves managing a portfolio of seaborne iron ore suppliers to ensure a secure and cost-effective supply chain, aligned with our client’s Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) strategy.

The position is based in Luxembourg – relocation or willingness to commute daily is required.

The Ideal Candidate

Background and Experience

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, strong preference for iron ore sourcing experience, minimum experience in sourcing other strategic raw materials needed in steel production.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Commercial insight with technical understanding of product sourcing and applications.
• Collaborative and team-oriented, with a willingness to share objectives and embrace compromises.
• Fluency in English is essential; additional language skills are an asset.
